Another Ames School Board candidate announces run

Add another candidate to the Ames School Board race. In a news release, Ames School District educational assistant Jamet Colton says she's running for the board. The Chile native and her husband have lived in Ames since 2000 and have a 10-year old son in the district. She's also a Spanish interpreter for the district. Colton says she'll focus her candidacy on a message of community, inclusion and transparency. Newcomers Monic Behnken and Gina Perez announced their candidacies earlier this month. Board members Mike Espeset and Bill Talbot have said they won't seek another term.  Board member Tim Rasmussen says he hasn't made a decision on another run. School board elections are September 12th.
