Ames Looking At Knocking Down 3 Buildings

Ames city planners think knocking down three buildings along Lincoln Way is needed to create more living space.  The planning department could approve demolishing the buildings to clear a path for a mixed-use facility of two-ground floor store fronts.  Above them, four floors of five-bedroom apartments are planned.  Earlier plans were nixed because of a lack of parking.  Planners have been talking with the city to provide on-site or remote parking.
