An Ames man accused of leaving threatening messages for a transgender Nevada student will go on trial May 2nd. Authorities say 65-year-old Mondell Olson left several messages at the student's home and school last month threatening to kill or injure the student based on gender identity. Olson is charged with three counts of first-degree harassment and one count of third-degree harassment. He's being held in the Story County jail.
