IDOT parking tickets take another hit

A judge is dealing another legal setback to the Iowa Department of Transportation in the fight over traffic tickets. The judge Wednesday said a DOT officer had no right to give a speeding ticket to a Norwalk resident. That ruling is the same conclusion another judge reached back in October when a teenager's speeding ticket was tossed because the officer isn't part of the Public Safety department. A class-action lawsuit filed back in November wants Iowa to refund the fines issued by DOT officers.
