City Council approves Barilla expansion incentives

The Barilla Corporation is being urged to expand it's pasta plant in Ames with a package of incentives approved by the City Council Tuesday.  City Manager Steve Schainker says the city will give the company a $3 million, 10-year tax increment financing rebate for a $62 million, 71,000 square-foot expansion. Barilla says it's expansion will add 41 new jobs. The company is also considering the expansion for it's plant in Avon, New York.
