Study looks at Iowa immigrant economic effect

A study from the Partnership for a New American Economy reveals the effect immigrants have on the iowa economy.  Data shows there are about 154,000 immigrant residents in Iowa, which is five percent of the state population.  There are over 6,000 entrepreneurs in iowa with over 25,000 people working for immigrant-owned companies.  In terms of dollars spent, in 2014 immigrants accounted for over $1 billion in taxes paid to the state and over $3-billion in spending.
