Union sues to block collective bargaining changes

The union that represents state and municipal workers is taking its opposition to the new collective bargaining agreement to the courts.  Members of AFSCME Iowa Council 61 filed suit against the state Monday. They claim the new law, which reduces the union's negotiating power, is unconstitutional.  The bill passed the general assembly last week and was signed into law by Gov. Branstad on Friday.
