Iowa gas prices exceed national average

The average price for a gallon of gas in Iowa continues to surpass the national average.  Triple-A says the price in iowa this week is $2.32.  The nationwide average is $2.28.  Only South Dakota and Nebraska have higher prices among iowa's six neighboring states.  The Davenport metro area posts iowa's cheapest gas $2.22 a gallon.  Drivers in Des Moines continue to pay the highest prices at the pump at $2.48 for a gallon of regular.
