Ames police investigate armed robbery


Ames police are looking for two armed robbers who held-up a man at gunpoint in a parking lot.  Cops say the robbery happened shortly before 7:00 Tuesday night in the 800 block of 24th street.  The victim tells police he had just pulled his car into the lot when two white men in a red, late 90s small car believed to be a Honda Civic pulled in behind him.  As the victim got out of his car, he was approached by one of the suspects who pointed a gun and stole his wallet.  The  suspect is described as a white male between five-foot-eight and five-foot-ten, with a thin build and short hair.  He was wearing a black jacket, dark blue jeans and white tennis shoes.  The other man is described only as white with short hair.  Anyone with information is asked to call Ames Police or Crimestoppers.
